Jeanne Damas is the epitome of cool French girl style. The Paris native has achieved an unmatched influence over the French fashion scene. She’s been in the limelight for quite a while, starting with an eponymous blog she created as a teen where she shared candid photos of her style and friends all around Paris. She eventually migrated to Tumblr to share her film photography, shot on her trusty Olympus Mju II, and now exclusively posts on Instagram.
Over 1 million people around the world are inspired by her style, though I’m sure her doe eyes, fringed hair, and full-lipped pout equally contributed to Damas’ cultivation of the perfect French girl look.
Who is Jeanne Damas?
Jeanne Damas is kind of like the Paris Hilton of France, albeit a much cooler version. How did Jeanne Damas become famous? Jeanne Damas is your average Parisian girl, and that’s precisely what’s made her life appealing to so many. She didn’t come from a prestigious family and she didn’t own a business before becoming famous.
While many people would classify Jeanne Damas as a French style influencer, she is actually so much more! Thanks to Damas’ everyday Parisian girl vibe, she’s made an impressive career for herself working as a model, collaborating with all sorts of fashion brands, and supporting designer friends like Jacquemus.

Jeanne Damas Style
Jeanne Damas’ style has evolved over the years. With the help of close family friend Nathalie Dumeix, a local designer, Damas has curated an effortlessly cool French girl style reminiscent of the 1970s.
From her graphic t-shirts to her midi wrap dresses, to her high-waisted rust-brown pants, to her slouchy sweaters and raw-hemmed jeans, Damas is the ultimate vintage style icon of the modern-day.
Whether it’s a straight leg or a cropped flare, Jeanne Damas is often found in jeans. In summer, you’ll find her wearing Castañer espadrilles, and in winter, her Isabel Marant suede boots.
Here are a few of our favorite Jeanne Damas outfits by season:
Jeanne Damas Spring Style
Jeanne loves wearing floral prints in spring and vintage-style dresses in the springtime. She prefers midi-length skirts and pretty wool cardigans. Of course, like any true Parisian, she has several chic beige trench coats!
Jeanne Damas Summer Style
Jeanne, like many it-girls, loves wearing By Far Tanya mules, as seen below in Marseille. She also has a classic Jane Birkin style wicker basket bag, probably handmade in Portugal. I think her jean mini skirt comes from A.P.C.
Jeanne Damas Fall Style
Fall is perhaps when I take the most inspiration from Jeanne’s outfits. She has a wonderful ability to pair rich fall colors and create the perfect fall look. She wears lots of high-waisted pants in corduroy or wool and they look fabulous! Oversized plaid blazers are another popular item that Jeanne wears a lot.
Jeanne Damas Winter Style
In winter, Jeanne is often wearing her Isabel Marant suede boots and a solid-colored wool coat. She has the Staud Bissett bucket bag in several colors.
Rouje: Jeanne’s Brand
Jeanne Damas amassed a following at a young age and was able to launch her own fashion brand by the age of 25. Her fashion brand Rouje regularly sells out after the launch of a new collection which includes clothing, shoes, accessories, and handbags. Rouje is a play on the word “rouge” which means “red” in French. It’s Jeanne’s favorite color, often seen on her lips.
The Rouje brand offers accessible French girl style to anyone. The pieces are unique, often featuring cuts, patterns, and styles much more modest or vintage than the contemporary pieces one can find in the US. Think midi wrap dresses, simple polka-dot prints, and high-waisted crop flared jeans – the same kinds of style that Jeanne Damas wears herself.
Recently, Damas branched into the beauty category with Les Filles en Rouje, offering mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, and more French girl makeup products.
As a social media savvy brand, Rouje regularly promotes fans wearing the line who hashtag their Instagram posts #lesfillesenrouje, which means “the girls in Rouje.”
Boutique and Restaurant
The first Rouje boutique in Paris opened up in 2019 at 11 bis Rue Bachaumont, 75002 Paris, France. Jeanne opened up her first restaurant, Chez Jeanne, in 2019. The French restaurant is located adjacent to the boutique.

In 2022, she published La Vie en Rouje, a bi-lingual book exploring the inspiration and aesthetic behind the essence of her fashion brand.
